Oversize transport Greece – Romania

On its way to Greece, an oversize transport from Romania crosses Bulgaria, so it needs permits in both countries. For very large loads or destinations on the islands, the sea route is often simpler. We price both options and choose the one that arrives on time with the least risk.

What we transport between Greece and Romania

To and from Greece we mainly transport:

  • renewable energy equipment;
  • construction machinery;
  • structures and industrial equipment;
  • boats and vessels;
  • equipment through the ports of Thessaloniki and Piraeus.

The road route

The usual route goes through Bulgaria, from Ruse or Vidin to the Greek-Bulgarian border at Kulata–Promachonas. We need permits in each country: in Bulgaria from the Road Infrastructure Agency, in Greece from the Greek road authorities. We obtain them through local partners and synchronise the escort at the border.

By sea and to the islands

For very large loads or destinations on the islands, sea transport can be simpler: by ship from Constanța to Greek ports or by ferry to the islands. For the islands, we check in advance the capacity of the ship, the ramp and the roads from the port to the destination.

What to send us for a quote

Within the European Union there are no customs formalities, but every country on the route requires its own oversize transport permit.

  • the dimensions and weight of the load, from the data sheet;
  • the exact loading and unloading addresses;
  • the preferred date and how flexible it is;
  • who handles the loading and unloading (crane, ramp);
  • the delivery terms (Incoterms), if you know them;
  • a photo or a drawing of the cargo.
