Oversize transport Serbia – Romania

Serbia is our south-western neighbour and the road to part of the Balkans. Because it is not part of the EU, an oversize transport to Serbia means, besides the road permit, transport permits and customs formalities. We prepare all of them before departure.

What we transport between Serbia and Romania

To and from Serbia we mainly transport:

  • equipment for industrial and energy projects;
  • construction and agricultural machinery;
  • steel structures;
  • transit to other Balkan countries.

Permits in Serbia

In Serbia, the permit for oversize transport (“vanredni prevoz”) is issued by the road administrator; for state roads, by the public company Putevi Srbije. The law defines international oversize transport separately, and foreign carriers need, besides the road permit, bilateral or ECMT transport permits.

Transit and customs

Trucks over 7.5 t in transit must use the roads designated for transit, and oversize transport travels on the route in the permit. Serbia is not part of the EU, so the transport goes through customs, with export, import or transit declarations.

The crossing points

The most used crossing points are Moravița–Vatin, towards Vršac and Belgrade, and the Iron Gates I, towards Kladovo. We choose the crossing according to the authorised route and the bridge restrictions on both sides of the border.

What to send us for a quote

For countries outside the European Union we add the customs documents: the export or import declaration, the transit document and, where applicable, the bilateral transport permits.

  • the dimensions and weight of the load, from the data sheet;
  • the exact loading and unloading addresses;
  • the preferred date and how flexible it is;
  • who handles the loading and unloading (crane, ramp);
  • the delivery terms (Incoterms), if you know them;
  • a photo or a drawing of the cargo.
